Everyone comes across information that they want to refer to later. Maybe gifts you've received or sent, product serial numbers, recipes, directions to someone's house, a photo of your pet, or anything else. Caboodle is a tool to help store and organize such varied bits of information.
You can arrange the items in an outline-like hierarchy, and include both structured fields and free-form text and pictures in each entry, along with web links, lists, tables, PDFs, and any other kind of file as attachments.
When you create a new entry within an existing one, the custom fields are inherited, allowing quickly creating content in an organized fashion. But you can also add or remove custom fields independently for each entry.

A free Mac OS X application to remind you to take regular breaks.
PORTLAND, Oregon -- July 30, 2007 -- Dejal today announced the immediate availability of Dejal Time Out 1.5, a handy break reminder tool for Mac OS X. As David Sinclair of Dejal says, it is very easy to fall into bad habits when using a computer for hours on end; you care about what you are doing, so can sometimes push yourself too far, or over-strain yourself. The human body isn't built to sit in one position for endless hours, gripping a mouse or typing on the keyboard. Dejal Time Out is here to help. It will gently remind you to take a break on a regular basis.
Time Out has two kinds of breaks: a "Normal" break, typically for 10 minutes after 50 minutes of work, so you can move about and relax, plus a "Micro" break: a very brief pause of typically 10 seconds every 10 minutes, so you can remember not to tense up too much for long periods.
You can configure how long each kind of break lasts, and how long between breaks. Each Time Out is announced via the screen slowly dimming, with related graphics materializing, and when the break is complete, it fades out again. You can change the time these transitions take... and you can even change the color and the level of transparency during the break.
This release has a much nicer application icon, plus an improved break layout. By popular request, it also includes options to remove any or all of the buttons, and to change the postpone amounts. So if you find the temptation to skip a break too strong, you can get rid of the button to encourage you to take the break. See the release notes for more information.

Mac OS X application to collect snippets of text and images.
PORTLAND, Oregon -- November 19, 2007 -- Dejal today announced the immediate availability of Dejal Caboodle 1.1.3, a useful application to collect text, images, and other content.
Everyone comes across information that they want to refer to later. Maybe gifts you've received or sent, product serial numbers, recipes, directions to someone's house, a photo of your pet, or anything else. Caboodle is a tool to help store and organize such varied bits of information.
You can arrange the items in an outline-like hierarchy, and include both structured fields and free-form text and pictures in each entry, along with web links, lists, tables, PDFs, and any other kind of file as attachments.
When you create a new entry within an existing one, the custom fields are inherited, allowing quickly creating content in an organized fashion. But you can also add or remove custom fields independently for each entry.
Entries can be encrypted to hide your most sensitive information. They can also be searched, and the Services menu is supported to quickly add or output an entry.
This bug-fix release fixes some issues with opening attachments, help, and other areas. It also adds German localization.

A free Mac OS X application to remind you to take regular breaks.
PORTLAND, Oregon -- February 4, 2008 -- Dejal today announced the immediate availability of Dejal Time Out 1.5.2, a handy break reminder tool for Mac OS X. As David Sinclair of Dejal says, it is very easy to fall into bad habits when using a computer for hours on end; you care about what you are doing, so can sometimes push yourself too far, or over-strain yourself. The human body isn't built to sit in one position for endless hours, gripping a mouse or typing on the keyboard. Dejal Time Out is here to help. It will gently remind you to take a break on a regular basis.
Time Out has two kinds of breaks: a "Normal" break, typically for 10 minutes after 50 minutes of work, so you can move about and relax, plus a "Micro" break: a very brief pause of typically 10 seconds every 10 minutes, so you can remember not to tense up too much for long periods.
You can configure how long each kind of break lasts, and how long between breaks. Each Time Out is announced via the screen slowly dimming, with related graphics materializing, and when the break is complete, it fades out again. You can change the time these transitions take... and you can even change the color and the level of transparency during the break.

Portland, Oregon - Dejal Systems, LLC is proud to announce Narrator 2.0, the latest version of their popular text-to-speech utility for Mac OS X Leopard. At its basic, Dejal Narrator leverages the Mac's speech synthesis to read marked passages of a text document, utilizing specified voice attributes for each of the story lines' parts.
With a focus on ease-of-use, users can have a range of "actors" that can portray any number of "characters", so various passages of the document are spoken with differing voices, pitch, inflection, etc. Words are dynamically highlighted on-screen as passages are read out loud. Choose different voice, rate, pitch, and inflection, as well as volume levels for each character in the story. There are also a couple of silent read-along options for stage directions, or for users to read out their own parts.
To help users better organize stories, Narrator now supports multiple chapters in each document. It also offers a word replacement dictionary to fine-tune the pronunciation.

Everyone comes across information that they want to refer to later. Maybe gifts you've received or sent, product serial numbers, recipes, directions to someone's house, a photo of your pet, or anything else. Caboodle is a tool to help store and organize such varied bits of information.
You can arrange the items in an outline-like hierarchy, and include both structured fields and free-form text and pictures in each entry, along with web links, lists, tables, PDFs, and any other kind of file as attachments.
Caboodle is elegantly simple, but includes some innovative and useful features. Every entry can include child entries. When you create a new entry within an existing one, the custom fields are inherited, allowing quickly creating content in an organized fashion. But you can also add or remove custom fields independently for each entry.
Entries can be encrypted to hide your most sensitive information. They can also be searched, and the Services menu is supported to quickly add or output an entry.
This release includes a new View option to temporarily decrypt an entry and display it read-only, to quickly and easily see encrypted text without decrypting it on disk. It also adds support for storing passwords in the keychain, a default password, and several other enhancements and fixes.

If you earn income from affiliate links on your website, you need Macfilink. It is an easy and effective tool to help protect your affiliate links from dishonest people who would steal your commissions for themselves.
Macfilink works by cloaking your affiliate link - creating a web page for you to upload to your own site, so that your customers see a page on your site, with your URL, instead of the affiliate URL - but they still see the merchant's site. They never see your affiliate link, so they can't remove your affiliate ID or change it to their own.
You don't need to know anything about HTML for it to work. You simply enter the affiliate URL, and Macfilink creates an encoded HTML page for you. You can add a heading (e.g. to link back to your site, or a banner), and other options. You can then copy the HTML, save it to disk, or even have Macfilink upload it directly to your web server!

A free Mac OS X application to remind you to take regular breaks.
PORTLAND, Oregon -- May 4, 2009 -- Dejal today announced the immediate availability of Dejal Time Out 1.5.4, a handy break reminder tool for Mac OS X. As David Sinclair of Dejal says, it is very easy to fall into bad habits when using a computer for hours on end; you care about what you are doing, so can sometimes push yourself too far, or over-strain yourself. The human body isn't built to sit in one position for endless hours, gripping a mouse or typing on the keyboard. Dejal Time Out is here to help. It will gently remind you to take a break on a regular basis.
Time Out has two kinds of breaks: a "Normal" break, typically for 10 minutes after 50 minutes of work, so you can move about and relax, plus a "Micro" break: a very brief pause of typically 10 seconds every 10 minutes, so you can remember not to tense up too much for long periods.
You can configure how long each kind of break lasts, and how long between breaks. Each Time Out is announced via the screen slowly dimming, with related graphics materializing, and when the break is complete, it fades out again. You can change the time these transitions take... and you can even change the color and the level of transparency during the break.

Another product, Narrator, is not yet fully compatible with Snow Leopard. It works, but can only open documents not saved in its native format. Dejal's developer, David Sinclair, says that a fix is being worked on with Apple's help. A free update will be released as soon as possible.

Version 2.5.7 fixes a bug in the Port plug-in where it would misbehave if the text to receive or send started with a "-" character. This could affect many people, as the default Incoming Email (POP) service uses this when the server doesn't accept the login. It also fixes an issue where a notification could fail if the TestChangeCount, TestFailureCount or TestRecoveryCount variables are used.
Dejal also mentioned that version 2.6, currently scheduled for release in July, will require Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) as a minimum OS. So unless there are any further bug-fix releases before 2.6 is released, this will be the last version that supports Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger).

Narrator is a popular Mac OS X software that allows the user to read stories out loud using speech synthesis. With no plans at this time to change the application’s title, the software product will be rereleased under the Mariner brand in the near future.
Using the rich voices already provided within the Mac OS X system, Narrator supplies controls that allows the user to choose a voice actor – adjusting the speed and pitch of the actor’s voice as well as inflection and volume – when reading the user added content. A dictionary preference allows substitution of words or phrases and to fine-tune pronunciation.
Other features of Narrator include:
- Exporting to iTunes, complete with track attributes including lyrics; great for listening to Narrator stories on an iPod or iPhone.
- The ability to create audiobooks
- Support for multiple chapters in each document
- Ability to export to a AAC sound file
- Multiple voice characters in a single document
- Syncing to the iPhone, iPad and iPod
"Adding Narrator to our product line made good sense to us," said Michael Wray, President of Mariner Software. "A product like Narrator which allows a screenplay or story to be read aloud with different voices, is a nice fit with all our creative writing products."

Summary:
Dejal Systems, LLC today announced that it is donating 100% from sales of its Mac apps for the rest of this week to relief efforts for the Christchurch earthquake.
Portland, Oregon - As you may have heard, the city of Christchurch in New Zealand had another major earthquake a couple of days ago, having suffered a big one late last year.
This quake (or series of quakes) has done a huge amount of damage, both to homes and major landmarks like the cathedral. Hundreds of people are still missing, and at least 75 were killed, with the toll still climbing.
David Sinclair, owner of Dejal, an indie Mac and iOS software publisher, said "I was born in New Zealand, and lived there until 2001. Although I don't have any friends or family in Christchurch, I know people who do. I feel that I really want to do something to help the relief efforts."
Dejal has announced that for the rest of this week (i.e. till midnight PST on Sunday Feb 27, 2011), it will donate 100% of the proceeds from Dejal Mac app sales to the New Zealand Red Cross, to help fund their relief efforts.

Caboodle is elegantly simple, but includes some innovative and useful features. Every entry can include child entries. When you create a new entry within an existing one, the custom fields are inherited, allowing quickly creating content in an organized fashion. But you can also add or remove custom fields independently for each entry.

As David Sinclair of Dejal says, it is very easy to fall into bad habits when using a computer for hours on end; you care about what you are doing, so can sometimes push yourself too far, or over-strain yourself. The human body isn't built to sit in one position for endless hours, gripping a mouse or typing on the keyboard. Dejal Time Out is here to help. It will gently remind you to take a break on a regular basis.
Time Out has two kinds of breaks: a "Normal" break, typically for 10 minutes after 50 minutes of work, so you can move about and relax, plus a "Micro" break: a very brief pause of typically 10 seconds every 10 minutes, so you can remember not to tense up too much for long periods.
You can configure how long each kind of break lasts, and how long between breaks. Each Time Out is announced via the screen slowly dimming, with related graphics materializing, and when the break is complete, it fades out again. You can change the time these transitions take... and you can even change the color and the level of transparency during the break.
